Latest cricket betting odds and news on Melbourne Renegades in BBL|10 – as the Renegades finalise their squad and continue preparations for the tournament.
Michael Klinger’s Melbourne Renegades BBL|10 season starts on 12th December, when they take on the Perth Scorchers in the 4th match of the competition.
It’s a huge season for the Renegades, who will be desperately trying to improve on last season’s efforts. Which can only be described as a sporting disaster.
BBL|09 was an absolute disaster for Renegades
The Renegades finished bottom of the table in BBL|09. And it wasn’t just finishing bottom, it was finishing bottom a full 6 points behind 6th and 7th places.
Renegades won just 3 of their 14 matches, and this is reflected in their odds for this year’s competition.
Along with Sydney Thunder (5th last season), the Renegades are 10/1 joint outsiders.
So this year, Michael Klinger’s team have pulled out all the stops in an attempt to improve on last year’s sorry performance.
Out have gone Dan Christian, Tom Cooper, and Jack Wildermuth. In have come Noor Ahmad, Josh Lalor, James Pattinson, Mitch Perry, Jack Prestwidge, Rilee Rossouw and Imran Tahir.
There seems to be an emphasis on wrist spin in their recruitment, which shows where Klinger thinks his team needed strengthening.
The recruitment of Noor Ahmad and Imran Tahir should go some way to rectifying this.
Young Afghan, Noor Ahmad is set to fill in for Tahir until he arrives after Christmas.
The Renegades other two overseas signings, Rilee Rossouw and Mohammad Nabi, are available throughout the whole season.
Securing players for the whole of the campaign is part of Renegades strategy. Coach, Michael Klinger said when discussing the arrival of Rossouw …
“Part of our strategy has been to target players who are going to be available for the majority of the season and we’ve been able to secure some genuine wicket-takers and now Rilee who is capable of winning a game off his own bat.”
The signing of Rilee Rossouw competes the Melbourne Renegades squad for the season.
