Who would have thought after all the rain and time lost during this match that going into the final day there would still be the chance of a positive result. A chance for England there is, albeit a slim one. Australia resume later today on 88/2 still 25 runs behind England’s 1st innings score off 376.
England will be hoping for a swinging ball first thing in their pursuit of early wickets. Mike Hussey looked well set at the close last night so the fact he has to start again this morning may play into England’s hands.
With Ponting already gone, Hussey and Michael Clarke could prove the main stumbling blocks for England who might well think they are due a devasting spell of bowling from Andrew Flintoff as he has had a quiet match so far with the ball.
As it stands only England have any realistic chance of forcing a victory, but if Australia get bowled out setting England a total of 170-200 it could be one of those dodgy targets to chase making for what could be an interesting last day with a potential close finish – remember the last time these two played here!
The Draw is still favourite at 1/3 with Sportingbet and Bet365

Australia are 66/1 with VC Bet and Bet365
