Bangladesh V Ireland – Group A

Cricket Betting Preview

Cricket World Twenty20, Group A, Trent Bridge 13.30

For Banglasdesh the equation is simple – win or go home. After Saturday’s mauling at the hands of defending champions India, it is now make or break for Mohammad Ashraful’s team. They face an Ireland side who could prove difficult with their UK based players knowing their way round Trent Bridge and having good experience of English conditions.

The Bangladesh batting faultered against India and will need to improve in order not to provide another shock, on the positive side their spinners did cause the Indians a lot of problems and should be way too strong for the non-county playing Irish batsmen.

This is also arguably Ireland’s make or break game as well. Although they still have one more game left after this, it’s against India. Beating India would be a feat in itself, but to beat them and aquire the necessary run rate would surely require a miracle – so as you see today’s game is already Irelands cup final.

The Irish beat Bangladesh during their impressive showing at the 2007, 50 over world cup so they know whats required to win, in captain William Porterfield, Boyd Rankin and the two O’Brien’s they have seasoned performers who all play county cricket in England.

Cricket Betting Odds

Not the biggest margine of difference in the betting markets that we have seen so far this tournament. At 1/3 the bookies obviously fancy Bangladesh to do the business but this could be closer than people think.

Bangladesh are 1/3 with Stan James and Sportingbet
Ireland are 11/4 with VCBet, Ladbrokes and Boylesports
