Match Betting Preview

India will be looking to get last Sunday’s dismal performance out of their system when they take on West Indies in the 3rd ODI in St Lucia on Friday. After the West Indian fight back on Sunday the bookmakers now have the two sides too close to call with West Indies at Evens and India at 9/10.

How India could go from amasing 339/6 in the first game to a measly 188 all out in the second I don’t know – surely that is the sort of form we are more used to seeing from West Indies.

West Indies batting has been strong so far in this series. In a losing cause in the 1st game they still managed to score over 300 and in the 2nd match they made light work of knocking off the 189 needed with around 15 overs to spare, ensuring a comprehensive victory.

India’s batting seem to be catching the England/Pietersen disease with Yuvraj, where if the star man fails with the bat the whole team seems to fail as well. Only a dogged innings by Dhoni, well backed up by RP Singh (101 partnership) saved India from what would have been an embarrassing total in the 2nd game.

Team News – India may ring the changes after their disasterous performance last Sunday, with many of their big names missing they may use this opportunity to look at one or two of the other fringe players in the squad. West Indies have retained the same squad for the remaining last two games and will probally not want to change a winning side.
