Sydney Thunder Vs Hobart Hurricanes Prediction 18/1/21

The Thunder have lost their last two, and three of their last four. So by all accounts they are having a bit of a blip.

There are a couple of factors to be taken into consideration though.

The defeat to the Sixers in their last match was on the D/L method, although I feel they may of lost regardless.

And prior to that they came up against a Perth Scorchers side who were just too hot to handle.

As for the Hobart Hurricanes, I can’t help but feel that they have under achieved in the Big Bash, especially with their overseas signing Dawid Malan.

The Englishman has had a couple of decent knocks, but hasn’t got anywhere near the heights expected from him. Along with D’Arcy Short and Ben McDermott, the Hurricanes have a top 3 capable of taking bowling attacks apart, and they just haven’t done that.

There is still time for them to redeem themselves, and this offers them the ideal chance to do so.

I can’t see it happening though. The Hurricanes look to be on a bit of a downwards spiral. They have lost three of their last four, and in the reverse fixture (Match 31), they were well beaten by 39 runs, in what wasn’t a high scoring match.

It’s a victory for the Thunder for me.
