IPL 2021 Match 21 Highlights – PBKS vs KKR – Just when they needed it, both Kolkata Knight Riders and their under fire captain Eoin Morgan pulled a performance out of the bag.
With just one win in their first five matches, KKR were really under pressure coming into this match. The top order had been badly misfiring, and none more so than captain Eoin Morgan.
After winning the toss, Morgan again took his preferred route of chasing. The decision looked a good one at the half way point, as his bowlers restricted Punjab Kings to just 123/9 from their 20 Overs.
Chasing a small total, KKR were never going to make things easy for themselves. Out of form pinch hitter, Sunil Narine was moved up to No.4 in the batting, and after he departed for 0 from 4 balls, KKR were 17/3 and in danger of blowing things again.
At this point, Eoin Morgan came into bat and steadied the ship with a partnership of 66 with Rahul Tripathi.
When Tripathi departed from 41 at the end of the 10th Over, KKR only needed 41 more runs to win, and Morgan seen them over the line comfortably with an unbeaten 47.
