Australia are in full command of 3rd Test after new wreaking havoc with the new ball on Day 3 in Sydney.
Day 3 of the 3rd Test between Australia and India looks like it might prove to be the pivotal one in the whole Test series when both sides sit down and analysis the series at its conclusion.
India had fought back brilliantly on Day 2, and but for a brilliant piece of fielding from Josh Hazlewood, were largely untroubled in the opening session of Day 3.
Australia took for control of 3rd Test after lunch
After lunch though, the wheels started to fall of for the Indians. Australia took the new ball, and the next passage of play altered the whole series.
In the following 20 Overs, India lost 6 wickets, and with it, Australia grabbed he match by the throat.
As well as the clatter of wickets, India’s already walking wounded squad suffered even more potential casualties, with both Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja, getting struck by bouncers.
This resulted in neither player taking the field when Australia batted. Both players left the ground for scans.
After promising so much, India’s 1st innings finished on 244 (a deficit of 94). Then with a healthy lead under their belts, Australia’s batsmen came out on the front foot.
The home side finished the day on 103/2, a lead of 197 runs.
India’s only hope now is to inflict an Adelaide style batting collapse on the Aussies. Otherwise, I feel the best they will get from this series is a draw.
