Melbourne Stars Vs Brisbane Heat Prediction 11/12/20

Match 2 of BBL|10 is Melbourne Stars Vs Brisbane Heat on 11/12/20, and here we bring you our match preview, latest betting, and match prediction.

Match Preview – Brief Summary

  • Melbourne Stars vs Brisbane Heat is Match 2 of the 2020/21 Big Bash League. The match is to be played on 11th December at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, starting at 7.15pm in Australia, 8.15am in the UK.
  • Manuka Oval is a neutral venue. Matches are being held here as part of the restrictions introduced to BBL|10 in light of the Covid-19 Pandemic.
  • Melbourne Stars are one of the stronger outfits in BBL|10. They were the bookmakers’ 10/3 pre tournament favourites.
  • The Stars will be captained by the in form Aussie international Glenn Maxwell.
  • They have named a 14 man squad for the season opener – Glenn Maxwell (C), Hilton Cartwright, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Ben Dunk, Andre Fletcher, Seb Gotch, Liam Hatcher, Clint Hinchliffe, Dilbar Hussain, Nick Larkin, Tom O’Connell, Billy Stanlake, Marcus Stoinis and Adam Zampa.
  • For Brisbane Heat, the bookmakers make them 6/1 to win the BBL|10. That’s fifth favourites in the betting.
  • The Heat were dealt a huge blow on the eve of BBL|10, when young England batsman Tom Banton withdrew citing family reasons and bio-secure bubble fatigue.
  • Another Englishman, Dan Lawrence, has replaced Banton at Brisbane.
  • Big hitting Chris Lynn is captaining Brisbane in their opener. Their squad for the trip to Canberra is Lynn (C), Xavier Bartlett, James Bazley, Max Bryant, Tom Cooper, Sam Heazlett, Matthew Kuhnemann, Dan Lawrence, Ben Laughlin, Jimmy Peirson, Simon Milenko, Connor Sully and Jack Wood.

Melbourne Stars Vs Brisbane Heat Prediction 11/12/20

The Stars were the pre tournament favourites, and it’s not hard to see why.

They have proven match winners in their side, with Maxwell, Stoinis, and Zampa, three names that immediately jump out at me.

Maxwell may not have had the greatest IPL, but since his hundred in England, he has been outstanding for Australia.

Adam Zampa has just had a decent white ball series for Australia against India as well.

Zampa is now a go to man in the Australia white ball team, and as a result, his confidence and self belief now looks to be at an all time high.

Brisbane will again be relying on Chris Lynn to do the bulk of the work.

Lynn has been a great T20 player over the years, but his star has been waning for a while now. If he can get support off the likes of Dan Lawrence, then the Heat can be dangerous.

But with the overall players on show here, I can only see this going the way of the Stars.

Prediction – Melbourne Stars to win @ 8/15
