Bangladesh Vs West Indies Prediction 11/2/21
Well, what can we say about the 1st Test. Records were smashed everywhere, and the upshot of it all is that West Indies are now 1 up, with just this match to go.
Can West Indies pull off a remarkable series win? It remains to be seen. But as we seen recently in Australia, it is possible to win without most of your main players.
What West Indies’ 1st Test win over Bangladesh has in common with India’s 2-1 win in Australia, is the ability of the replacement players to produce the goods. And no man better illustrated that example that debutant Kyle Mayers.
Mayers will now have the eyes of the cricketing world on him when he goes out to bat at Dhaka. This is his chance to show everyone that his double hundred – on debut and in the 4th innings – wasn’t a flash in the pan.
Chances are he will never play an innings that spectacular again, even if he plays a hundred Test matches. But he will still want to show all his new fans that he isn’t a one hit wonder. And he will still want to forge a successful Test career for himself.
In team news, West Indies have a full contingent to pick from, and they are likely to remain unchanged. While for Bangladesh, they go into the match without Shakib Al Hasan and Shadman Islam.
The loss of Al Hasan is the biggest blow to the Bangladeshis, as his absence affects the whole balance of the side.
Back the Bangladeshis to Bounce Back
So can the Windies pull off another shock in this time of uncanny results? Maybe, but I still can’t be backing them to win this match.
The pitch at Dhaka should suit the Bangladeshi spinners more than Chattogram did. That said, they will still need to perform much better.
The toss will also play a bit part in this Test match too, with five of the last last six Tests here won by the side batting first.
When push comes to shove though, I cant see lightning striking twice. Therefore I’m backing Bangladesh to make it 1-1.
