Going into this series, England were in outstanding form.
Eoin Morgan’s England side cruised to victory in the recent T20 series against Sri Lanka, winning 3-0 with a clean sweep.
They also won the 50 Over series against Sri Lanka 2-0, and were on course for another clean sweep until the weather played a role.
But then England get hit with a Covid outbreak, and as a result a whole new squad has to be assembled at short notice.
Will there ever be a better opportunity for Pakistan to register a win?
Pakistan boast one of the worlds best all round batsmen in Babar Azam, and in Mohammad Rizwan, they arguably have the form player in world cricket.
The Pakistan pace attack is well equipped to handle English conditions as well.
Despite all this, this match really is a tricky one to call.
Even with all the drama surrounding the England squad, I still feel they can put a decent playing XI on the field, such is the (white ball) talent now at England’s disposal.
Pakistan can be unpredictable as well. On their day they can beat anyone, but how often do they have their day?
With it being a tight call, I’m going to go with Pakistan on this occasion. I feel they will be sensing an opportunity here, and the are my tip to win.
