England vs India 2nd Test Betting Tips 12th August 2021

England and India meet in a best of five Test-match series this summer, with World Test Championship points up for grabs.

The visitors won the last series between the two sides, Virat Kohli’s team coming out 3-1 series winners earlier this season.

The last time the two sides met in England was back in 2018. On that occasion, Joe Root’s side came out 4-1 winners.

Here at cricket betting blog, we will be bringing you free cricket betting tips on all England vs India test matches of this series.

Despite Joe Root’s claims that England would have created enough chances on the 5th day of the 1st Test to win it, the truth is that England were saved by a combination of Root’s batting and in the main…. the weather.

India outplayed England for pretty much the whole Test match, and almost certainly would have won if the weather hadn’t intervened.

Have England learnt anything? Only time will tell. Going into Test matches without recognised spin bowlers in England is a negative tactic. It shows India from ball 1, that the hosts are on the back foot.

England have decided to recall Moeen Ali in an attempt to rectify that, and he is set to play. As well as leaving someone out for Ali, England are also now without the injured Stuart Broad for the rest of the series. The seam bowler has a torn right calf muscle.

Also a doubt is Jimmy Anderson. To cover for this, England have added Lancashire fast bowler Saqib Mahmood to the squad as cover.

India don’t seem to be having any such issues. The only problem facing Virat Kholi seems to be about what to do with star spinner, Ravi Ashwin.

Personally, I believe as good as Ashwin is, I don’t see the case for upsetting the balance of the side and trying to squeeze him in somewhere.

The weather doesn’t look likely to play a part this time around, so the only question is will England improve?

I think they will, but whether they will improve enough to beat this India side is another question.

For me, only India can beat themselves by tinkering with balance of the team.
