After losing their openers in quick succession, CSK did well to post a competitive total of 188/7. Or at least, so we thought.
When Delhi Capitals came out to bat, they made light work of the CSK total. And this without anything significant from new captain, Rishabh Pant.
Delhi’s opening pair of Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan put on 138 for the first wicket in just under 14 Overs. This left Pant little to do, and he was only required to play a small role with the bat. He finished 15 not out.
All in all, it was a good day with Pant. He rotated his bowlers well, and but for a late cameo from Sam Curran (34 off 15 balls), his team would have been chasing a far smaller total.
