Southern Brave’s win over Oval Invincibles in their final group match finalised the top 3. And in all honesty, along with Trent Rockets and Birmingham Phoenix, they were the only four teams in the men’s competition that were really competitive.
Trent Rockets were the early pace setters. But since they had their wings clipped by the Phoenix at Edgbaston in Match 14, they seem to have been hit and miss.
After winning their first three fixtures, the Rockets have won two from their following five. In fairness, two of their three defeats did come at the hands of Phoenix.
As for Southern Brave, they’ve been the exact opposite. They started off with two defeats. This was followed by two wins, one wash out, and a further three victories.
In Chris Jordan, Tymal Mills, and Danny Briggs. they have experienced white ball bowlers. In truth, the Brave have probably got the best bowling line up in the competiton.
It will probably come down to a battler between the Rockets’ explosive batters, and the Brave’s bowling attack.
Craig Overton will be available for the Southern Brave. but on the flip side they have now lost Colin de Grandhomme for the remainder of the competition.
This promises to be a tight match, but I’m going for the more in-form Southern Brave to win it!
