Sydney Thunder Vs Sydney Sixers Prediction 13/1/21

The bookies are just favouring the Thunder to win this, despite the Sixers topping the league.

It does look to be a tight match on paper, and in these sort of local Derbies, form can’t always be an accurate guide.

For the Sixers, they made very hard work of what should have been a comfortable win over the Heat. They needed a cool head from Dan Christian to get them over the line.

There’s two ways to look at that. One a negative note for the Sixers, it could be said they struggled over the line, and their form is a bit iffy.

But looking at it from a positive perspective, it could be said that the Sixers know how to get the job done. They have the ability to win tight matches.

For the Thunder, they will be boosted by the return of big hitting all rounder Daniel Sams. He is available to them again after missing two games due to concussion protocol.

Although the Thunder lost their last match, I wouldn’t read too much into their defeat to Perth Scorchers. The Scorchers have been crushing everyone lately, and the Perth Stadium wicket clearly suited the hosts pace attack.

In games like this, selections can sometimes come down to your hunch. I think the Thunder are playing the slightly better cricket at the moment, while the Sixers are relying on cameos to get them over the line.

That could happen again in this match, but I just have sneaky feeling for Sydney Thunder.
