Pakistan produced a remarkable come back on Day 2 of this 2nd Test match. The match resumed with Pakistan looking like going 2-0 in the series with Sri Lanka 74 in front and still with seven 1st innings wicket remaining.

Pakistan then produced a remarkable turnaround with first of all, World Twenty20 bowling hero’s Umar Gul and Saeed Ajmal both taking 4 wickets each in restricting the Sri Lankan 1st innings to 240 and then an unbeaten century from Fawad Alam well supported by Khurram Manzoor (38) and Younis Khan (35n/o) saw Pakistan reach 178/1 at the close.

You just don’t know what to expect from this Pakistan team. They were the same in the World Twenty20, brilliant one day and a disaster the next. The 3rd day should be interesting if only to see which Pakistan side turns up. Take your pick, they might collapse for another 50 runs or they might bat all day and into day 4 and set Sri Lanka a massive target, who knows! I’ve given up trying to predict this team.
