Melbourne Renegades Vs Perth Scorchers Betting Odds

Match Preview – Brief Summary

  • Melbourne Renegades Vs Perth Scorchers is Match 4 in BBL|10. The match starts at 7.15pm local time, 8.15am in the UK.
  • The venue for the match is the Bellerive Oval ( Blundstone Arena ), Hobart. This is a neutral venue being used due to Covid-19 travel restrictions.
  • This will be the first match for both of these sides.
  • In pre tournament betting, the Renegades were 10/1, with the Scorchers at 11/2. No surprises to see the Scorchers are favourites for this match also.
  • The Renegades are led by Aussie white ball captain, Aaron Finch. All rounder Benny Howell has been drafted in to replace T20 specialist Mohammad Nabi, who is in quarantine for the first two matches. Rilee Rossouw of South Africa is another exciting addition to the squad.
  • Melbourne are also without the experience of Marcus Harris, Will Sutherland and Cameron Boyce.
  • The Renegades finished last in BBL|09, this followed on from them winning it the previous season.
  • Perth Scorchers finished last season’s Big Bash League in a disappointing 6th position.
  • They are captained by Mitchell Marsh, and also have experienced Aussie internationals Cameron Bancroft and Ashton Agar on their playing staff.
  • In Jhye Richardson, Jason Nehrendorff, and Andrew Tye, Perth have a pretty well established bowling line up as well. An experienced line up who won’t be phased by any batting line up.
  • The Scorchers are without overseas pair Liam Livingstone and Jason Roy, both have just flown in from England’s tour of South Africa and are in quarantine.

Melbourne Renegades Vs Perth Scorchers Prediction 12/12/20

The Scorchers look a well balanced unit to me, and at this early stage, the side more equipped to hit the ground running.

With the like of Mitch Marsh, Cameron Bancroft, Joe Clarke, Colin Munro, Jhye Richardson, Jason Nehrendorff, and Andrew Tye to call on, they look too strong for a Renegades side looking to rebuild after last year’s disastrous campaign.

I’m taking Perth to win this opener.

Prediction – Perth Scorchers to win @ 3/4 with Betfair
