There are known knowns; there are things we know we know.
We also know there are known unknowns; that is to say we know there are some things we do not know.
But there are also unknown unknowns – the ones we don’t know we don’t know.
Then there is Jimmy Anderson’s bowling?
Now I’m really fucking confused.

They may as well replace him with Tremlett. Surely he won’t do any worse?
Some of those balls Shehzad bowled were delicious.

I would do, I’d have played Tremlett against Banglasdesh, I wrote that prior to the game, although I said at the expense of Shahzad.
But for West Indies, I’d now go Tremlett for Anderson. He looks washed up, what is there to be gained from sticking with him now?
He is averaging 70.50, I think it is, and his economy rate is over 6.5. The game is last chance saloon, Tremlett has to play. Simple
Different Shades
I agree. Tremlett for Anderson.
It may be that he’s just knackered and bored with playing cricket, although I tend to feel that there’s something more to it. I might try to get my head round it once the World Cup’s over (which, for England, could be in a few days’ time) and write something.

Thats right Brian, I thought at times during this tournament that he has had the look of a man who doesn’t want to be there.
I’ve tried my hardest not to criticise him (as I’m sure you’re aware by now, I’ve never been his biggest fan), as after his Ashes performance it could simply be fatigue, which is understandable.
If that’s the case, then it’s more the managements fault for not dropping him.
But the more I look at it and think about it, I’m starting to get a horrible feeling that all isn’t ok with England.
Something doesn’t look right with their body language, I eluded to it a bit on Friday. Does Pietersen’s exit have anything to do with something going on behind the scenes? Or am I just reading too much into it?
It could be just as you pointed out, that Anderson is bored with cricket. Or it could be that they are bored with each other after a marathon tour.
Putting it another way, I’d rather them be a bit pissed off with each others company after 5 months (as that’s understandable), compared to a rift of some sort in the camp (which I wouldn’t now be surprised to find out is the case).
I take it you’re that annoyed with things at the moment you can’t bring yourself to write about it just yet Brain?
