Holland v Pakistan – Group B

Cricket Betting Preview

Cricket World Twenty20, Group B, Lord’s 13.30

If they wish to continue in this Twenty20 tournament then Pakistan had better sharpen their act up for this Group B decider against surprise package Holland. Their fielding was awful, their batting not much better and only for decent bowling from Gul and Afridi it could have been far worse against England on Sunday.

The way the Pakistan team packed up against on Sunday night must be cause for concern for their fans as well. Even when it was obvious they were not going to win the match there seemed to be no urgency to try to get as close as they could to the English total, this would have improved their run-rate in a tight group.

To add to the on-field turmoil there now seems to be dispute off it with Abdul Qadir quitting as chief selector after only 6 months in the job.

The Dutch have their destiny in their own hands at Lord’s on Tuesday. Even if they lose they can still go through to the Super Eight’s as long as it is by no more than 24 runs, or if Pakistan bat second they will need to get the runs required with around 3 Overs to spare in order to turn around the run-rate deficit.

Holland looked far more tidy in the field than their professional opponents and will need to be on top of their cricket game again in order to have any chance of pulling this off. On the other hand it could all depend on which Pakistani team turns up – as the good one will probally be too strong for the Dutch.

Cricket Betting Odds

Pakistan are 1/6 with Sky Bet
Holland are 5/1 with Ladbrokes, Betfred and Stan James

Although you would have to expect Pakistan to win this fixture, odds of 1/6 in the betting are far too short for such an unpredictable team in my opinion.

Would your cricket loving Buddies enjoy this?
