England’s 2015/16 tour of South Africa Itinerary announced

England’s tour schedule for the 2015/16 tour of South Africa has been announced, and it’s fair to say – despite a brutal schedule throughout 2015 – they haven’t shirked any commitments to playing in all formats of the game.

The itinerary sees South Africa and England playing four Test matches, five ODIs and two T20s, in just over two months. The tour starts on 11th December 2015, and ends on the 21st February 2016.

This comes on the back of the small matter of the thirteen Test matches, fifteen ODIs and three T20s, England have between April and November next year, with this (South Africa) series coming right on the back of the UAE tour (where England play Pakistan), which ends in November 2015.

After a schedule like that, it’s hard to know what sort of state the England team will be in by the time they arrive in South Africa. There is though, a fair chance that some players might be rested for the Pakistan series – as it comes on the back of the Ashes – meaning that some players may be refreshed for South Africa.

England start their visit to South Africa with two warm up matches, before the 1st Test on Boxing Day at Kingsmead, Durban. The tour will be live covered live on Sky Sports.
