England V Australia – 2nd Test Betting Preview

Ashes Betting

After a week of time wasting, moaning, slagging off in the newspapers, injections and retirements the 2nd test gets under way at Lord’s on Thursday morning. After hanging on for the draw that must have felt like a victory last Sunday at Cardiff, England will be looking to put an end to their awful run at Lord’s.

Kevin Pietersen and Andrew Flintoff have finally been declared fit to play and England have opted to play Graham Onions meaning no room for Panesar, Bell or Harmison – the latter must be pleasing to the Australian batsmen.

Australia have kept faith with the same side that came so close in the 1st test with Brett Lee still out injured. They have resisted the option of recalling Stuart Clark and going for four seamers with Nathan Hauritz keeping his place after impressing with his bowling in Cardiff.

England have won the toss and will bat. Ricky Ponting said he would have batted had he won the toss suggesting it looks like a batting wicket. Lets see how England’s batsmen do then!

In the betting the draw is 11/10 favourite with Ladbrokes, Stan James and William Hill
Australia are 15/8 with Totesport and Boylesports
England are 9/2 with Totesport
