Pakistan have been cut to a best price of
I only seen bits of the game today, but from what I seen and read about it, it looks to have been a really good game. I know that a lot of the games have been a disappointment so far, but this match and the Ireland V Bangladesh game seem to have livened the competition up a bit.
A good hiding for England tomorrow and it will hit fever pitch in India!
Tomorrow’s game sees India as favourites at a general 4/9 and England at a best price of 2/1 with Bet365. On paper India should win, but I wouldn’t back them at that short price (and obviously because I’m English). For all England’s struggles, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them put in a decent performance.
Paul Collingwood has shown that he is coming into a bit of form with the bat recently. If England decide to stick with Ravi Bopara, then Colly will also have a bit of bowling to do. For these reasons I’m going to invest a silly pound on him to be Man of the Match, he is 25/1 with both VC Bet and Paddy Power.
I noticed that Stan James have a market for the most economical bowler in this game, they have picked 3 bowlers from each side.
I don’t know if they know something I don’t, but James Anderson’s name isn’t even in the running. Then again it could simply be that Stan’s odds compilers have watched him lately and realised no one with a brain would back him.
I also heard a report that on Thursday some members of the public went to the ground armed with Ricky Ponting and his well hard ‘box’ to get a ticket for this game. Following on from his appauling behaviour last Monday, he was seen getting stuck in to the fight with the police. Will that bloke ever calm down?
