England V Australia – 2nd Twenty20

Not much gained from an English point of view after the 1st Tewnty20 was washed out in Manchester on Sunday. Ravi Bopara’s troubles continued with a score of just 1 and Joe Denly’s international career – with the exception of the Ireland match – got off to the worst possible start after he first dropped an easy catch of Cameron White when he was on 12 – White went on to top score with 55 – and then failed to make amends with the bat as he only managed a first ball duck.

We also learnt that England have moved Luke Wright back down the order from his opening spot during the World Twenty20.

For Australia Michael Clarke’s excellent form with the bat continued as he scored 27 n/o and Cameron White managed his first T20 half century with his score of 55 from 36 balls which the Aussie management will be hoping will give him the confidence to kick on with his international career. Australia have been searching for a player in his mould since the demise of Andrew Symonds.
